Anne Popel Leonard is originally from Paxton, Illinois. She began her nursing career at the same hospital where she was born - Paxton Community Hospital in 1982. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked as a LPN, Staff Nurse, Case Manager, Performance Improvement Coordinator, Director and CNO.
She graduated from Parkland College with her LPN and associate degree in nursing, The University of South Alabama with a BSN and William Carey College with an MBA. Anne holds a specialty certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Medical-Surgical Nursing.
Anne is a member of numerous professional organizations including:

- American College of Healthcare Executives
- American Nurses Association
- Kentucky Nurses Association
- Board member of the South Central Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
Anne is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoys spending time with her family and researching genealogy.
