Bowling Green, KY – Mike Sherrod, Chief Executive Officer at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, has been announced as the chair of the American Heart Association’s 2018 South Central Kentucky Heart Walk, set for September 15, 2018 at Bowling Green Ballpark. This annual community event is a key fundraiser for the American Heart Association to help fund heart disease and stroke research and prevention education.
TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital is also a sponsor of 2018 Healthy for Good Stroke platform for this year’s annual walk. “Playing a central role in the Heart Walk’s campaign is a natural fit for me and TriStar Greenview,” said Mike Sherrod. “As a Type 1 diabetic, I understand the increased risks for stroke and heart disease. Knowledge is power and we are proud to make a difference in the lives of our loved ones and this community.”
TriStar Greenview is an Accredited Chest Pain Center as well as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Joint Commission and Society of Chest Pain Centers recognize the commitment of quality care for the rapid assessment, intervention and treatment of patients exhibiting stroke and cardiac symptoms at TriStar Greenview. These accreditations distinguish the hospital’s emergency department services from others and establishes the hospital as a leader in cardiovascular care.
Mr. Sherrod will rally community leaders in the fight against heart disease to sponsor the event and form teams to walk. The funds raised from the Heart Walk support lifesaving programs and research.
