The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has approved the TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital application to build an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Warren County, Ky.
“Warren County is a rapidly growing area where residents have no access to a surgery center such as the one approved,” said Mike Sherrod, chief executive officer at TriStar Greenview. “We are grateful to the Bowling Green community and our physicians for their support of the facility.”
Sherrod said the outpatient surgery center will fill a gap in the region by providing patients with greater access to care, lower out-of-pocket costs and reduced surgical and recovery times.
TriStar Greenview has experienced a 38 percent outpatient surgery growth from 2013 to 2015. To meet physicians and patient needs, the new ASC will offer them the same level of high-quality surgical care that we consistently provide at our main hospital campus.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our quality metrics that allowed us to be entrusted with this approval,” said Sherrod. “This is a testament to the level of dedication of our TriStar Greenview physicians and staff who have been caring for our community for more than 40 years.”
The ASC, being built in partnership with Southern Kentucky Surgicenter, represents an investment of more than $9 million, including construction and equipment. Construction will begin later this year.
